Tourism Posters Advertising Visit Malaya In Orient Year 1961 - Part 1
This is a collection of 4 hand painted large posters (81cm x 100cm) produced for the Visit Malaya in Orient Year 1961 promotion. They were found in London together with another poster for the same event produced by the Tourism Department of Malaya. It is believed that they were painted by Malayan staff working for the government in London in 1960.
They feature four different Malayan scenes (from left to right):
Meet All the East, a Malay lady in her Kebaya with a train in the background;
All the Magic of the East, a Malay lady in Kebaya and sarung;
All the Magic of the East, showing a fish trap;
See the Magic of Malaya, a Malay boy playing a traditional instrument.
