Remark : Dr Lip Seng Chiew joined SMI as a student in the early days when Mr P J Morsingh was headmaster. He was the fifth son of Lip Poh, founder of the famous Poh Garden. Later he became a member of the teaching staff and then a member of the Board of Governors. A great supporter of his Alma Mater he was a leading benefactor for every worthwhile cause.
