This set of photographs sent by Alistair and from his service in the Ipoh area while stationed at Colombo Camp, Ipoh, for the Malayan Emergency was entitled by him "We were chasing Chin Peng, but we did not get him!"

The Royal Scots Fusiliers were raised in 1678. Originally known as The Earl of Mar's Regiment they had several name changes over the years - Scots Fusiliers, 21st Royal North British Fusiliers, and finally Royal Scots Fusiliers. They were amalgamated in 1959 with the Highland Light Infantry and are now known as The Royal Highland Fusiliers (Princess Margaret's Own Glasgow and Ayrshire Regiment) (21st, 71st, 74th). It recruits from the City of Glasgow and Ayrshire. HRH Princess Margaret is the Colonel in Chief.

The above photograph shows four of C Company posing for their group photo not long after arriving in Colombo Camp.
