This photograph shows the King's Scouts with the Scout Commissioner of the Federation of Malaya (centre), at a Scout Rally in Ipoh.

The first Kinta scout troop was organised at Batu Gajah's Government English School in 1924, which was later renamed the Sultan Yussuf School. The Ipoh Anglo-Chinese School soon followed with their own scout troop, the second in Kinta.

Mr. E.C. Hicks, was the Perak State Commissioner of Scouts just before World War II.
