This article appeared in The Star, dated 2 October 2015, as a tribute to the late Tan Sri Dato Seri Yuen Yuet Leng. Yuen was a dedicated policeman and a Special Branch Chief who always put the nation's interest before his own. He was a key figure in Malaya's battle against the Communist Insurgents during the Emergency.
Yuen passed away at the age of 88. Incidentally, he was also the author of 'Operation Ginger' and 'Nation Before Self'.
