The Ipoh Club started out as a "small drinking club" among the Europeans back in the late 1800s. The first building was in fact at the junction of Hugh Low Street and Club Road. Much later, it moved to its present location in front of the Ipoh Padang.
We thank Bob Davidson for sharing these photographs with us. The first is an early view of the Ipoh Club, note the gazebo. The second was taken at a New Year's Ball, at the Ipoh Club.
