Memories From The Kinta Club (Kinta Golf Club)
The first two pictures show the front and back of a badge from the Kinta Club (Kinta Golf Club). The third picture shows Donald Baxter (holding a golf club) with some friends as the Kinta Club. Donald was the North Malaya Golf Champion in 1957. According to Ipoh Remembered, at age 21 Donald was the youngest person ever to win it. Alas, he had little opportunity to repeat that success, although he did win the Perak Turf Club Sports Club trophy the next year. Sadly, he was robbed and murdered in 1963.
We thank Ruth for the above pictures, of her late husband Donald Baxter. Incidentally, Ruth is the daughter of famed Danish architect B M Iversen.
