The photograph in this entry is that of an ais krim (ice cream) potong box. These boxes were usually fitted onto the back of the vendor's bicycle. To prevent the ice cream from melting quicker than they should, the vendors would usually place ice blocks at the bottom of the box to keep the temperature low.
At one time ice cream hawkers were very popular, particularly Magnolia ice cream from Cold Storage, but these were generally on tricycles.
