World War II Army Field Telephone Handset
The photographs in this entry are those of a World War II / Post War British Military Army Field Telephone Set H Mk III. These particular phones were used specifically for military communications. They usually draw power from either their own battery through a telephone exchange or from an external power source.
This particular unit looks to be from the first field phones as it has a wind-up generator which is used to power the telephone's ringer and batteries to send the call, and call the manually operated telephone central.
