From The Sawyers' Album: The 'Gili Gili' Man
Our donor - Larry Sawyer - shared the following message with us:
"...a gilli gilli man..ie snake charmer and tricks used to show up from time time. Club management did not like it nor some of the members because he was not a member. He used to slip in somehow, probably through the hole in the back hedge. Anyway the kids loved it and ran off to their parents to fork out some money so the man would perform. He did have real snakes"
We do not know which club Larry was referring to. However, if you've met this showman (or recognise the building in the background), do let us know.
