This is the famed Tiger Lane Mansion, which was once the home of the Sawyers. We believe the lady standing in front of the mansion is our donor's mother.
According to Judith Pashley (nee Clemetson),
"The Sawyers must have lived there after my father, George Clemetson (family friend of the Iversens), left to return to the UK in 1964. This is the garden I remember as a child, with my father’s beloved orchid flowerbed. The house became some sort of school at some point in time. It was such a grand house and I am so sad to see it fall into decay more and more with each (infrequent) trip back to Ipoh. But it’s still there, which is amazing in itself!! A piece of my family history.”
