A Business Envelope From Foo Yik Sdn Bhd
The receipts (right) and their envelope (left) suggest that Mr. Toh Lin Seong from 185, (Atas) Jalan Pusing, Batu Gajah, Perak purchased a 4-door and a 2-door Toyota Corolla sedan which cost $8732.00 and $7762.50 respectively. The date of purchase is unclear as it was not featured on the receipts. Measuring 15cm x 9cm, the envelope, dated 4pm 16 February 1974, bears a chop of the name and address of the receiver, a 10 cents Malaysia stamp on the top right as well as the information of Foo Yik Sdn Bhd, 83, Hugh Low Street, Ipoh which we believe was the envelope manufacturing company. The receipts were issued by Chin Sin Onn of Borneo Motors, 58, Brewster Road, Ipoh. Along with the price breakdown of the cars on the receipts are some handwritten notations which could be a few minor corrections regarding the price calculation.
