A Bunga Raya Ice Cream Bicycle Box
This bicycle hawker’s box was found in Teluk Intan and caries the brand name Bunga Raya (Hibiscus), Malaysia’s national flower. However we can find no trace of his brand and have to assume that it was a local brand manufactured and sold by a small team from a home-based business. One of the clues to this is the logo which is stenciled rather than professionally hand painted. It is also worthy of note that there is a Taman Bunga raya in Teluk Intan. If this was the case and the product was home-made then it was probably "Aiskrim Potong" a very local type of ice cream.
Aiskrim potong is made by cutting slices from a big block of ice cream to form a long square treat and with a wooden stick inserted. Thus the unique name, “cut ice cream”.
