A Mining Sieve

Subject :A Mining Sieve
Published By : None
Location : Kota Bharu
Estimated Year : 1965
Media Type : Artifact
Source : Ian Anderson, Ipoh
Remark :
The photographs in this entry are those of a two-ma mining sieve which was likely used in the last stage of filtering tin ore. From the fine wire mesh used, we believe that impurities and by-products such as sand and amang escape through the small holes of the mesh whereas the heavier and bigger ore - Tin stays behind and is poured out once its been filtered.
