A Food Control Card, Belonging To Chew Poo Keong
The pictures show a food control card, which belonged to Chew Poo Keong. This card was issued on 1st August 1947, by the Rationing Officer of the Food Control Office (which was along Brewster Road). Chew was a Hokkien who lived at 15 Hume Street, Ipoh. According to the card, there were 2 men, 1 woman and a child in his family. The details in the card state that Chew passed away in 1950; we do not know if this same card was used by the surviving members of the family, or if a new card was issued.
