Soon Yik Goldsmith Book
This book was produced by Soon Yik Goldsmiths Sdn. Bhd. back in the 60s. It features 234 pages of content highlighting the many public functions the firm and their proprietors partook in, historical information from its inception to the date the book was published, some information on its company structure and short articles, amongst many others.
Moreover, the front of the book boasts an image of the old Soon Yik building at Leech Street (aka Jalan Bandar Timah) whereas the back of the book shows the branch at Hugh Low Street (their HQ). The book is made using traditional Eastern/Chinese bookbinding methods; it flips from right-to-left and is read from top-to-bottom.
The famous goldsmith was frequented by many ordinary and also prominent individuals including Hong Kong artists of the old such as Cheng Guan Min (郑君绵).
