Remark :

The picture shows a black silk top and red skirt. The top is heavily embroidered with dragon and phoenix motives, as well as flowers. This top is tailored as a kebaya, but with a Mandarin collar and frog-buttons. The red skirt has the same dragon, phoenix, and flower motives. A row of mini tassels complete the hem of the skirt.

This elaborate outfit was probably worn by our donor at her wedding dinner.

The Dragon and Phoenix

It is said that in Feng Shui these two are the most powerful of the four celestial animals  are the perfect couple.

The Dragon is "yang" while Phoenix is "yin", and they complement each other in creating yin-yang balance to harvest successful matrimonial bliss. Perfect attire for a wedding function.
