The Destruction Of Falim House Estate (Part 1)
These images were taken in 2012 when the Estate of the late Foo Nyit Tse was sold to a development company for a project known as "Tin City". Prior to the arrival of the bulldozers and chain saws this was a wonderland of green vegetation, not visible from the Falim Road. Apart from the grand Falim House itself, the land also housed the caretakers house, a large garage and tin mining equipment store, various sheds and outbuildings, some of which had originally housed some members of the family. A stocked pond and a well laid out, off road, driving school at the end nearest to Ipoh completed the picture. .
All but the house has now gone, penned in by new roads and shop houses, a shopping centre and a condominium.
