Remark :
Born in 1898 in Selangor, Ho Seng Ong was one of Malaya's finest educationists, serving as headmaster of ACS Malacca for fifteen years. In his era there were twenty-six "mission schools" in Malaya and Seng Ong was the only local-born principal; all the rest were American or European.
After the war he served for a time as headmaster of ACS Ipoh as well as pastor at Wesley Methodist Church, before moving to Penang. Around that same time, in order to ease crowding elsewhere, a new primary school was set up in Canning Garden, Ipoh, as a co-educational branch. A scant year after the new school was opened in his name, Seng Ong died – a great man who loved his country and all its children.

We thank our donor - Karpal Sekawan - for the above information.

The picture shows Ho Seng Ong; probably taken during his years as headmaster of ACS and pastor at Wesley Methodist Church.
