This card is issued by the Honorary Secretary of Kinta Swimming Club, Ipoh certifying Mr. Hong Weng Kuen as the member of the club.

Hong Weng Kuen joined the club in 1936, as a Student Member, (at 30 cents per month subscription) and became one of the founder members.

Around 1957 Weng Kuen first became a committee member and when the third President, Datuk Yeoh Kian Teck (President from 1975 to 1983) retired he stepped into the breach and has remained President to today (2007). But in 1992 disaster struck as the original lease ran out and was not immediately renewed by the Council. This led to the club being closed for six years, and a rebuild becoming essential. Consequently, a ground breaking ceremony for the new club was held on 1 May 1998 officiated by Dato’ Ong Ka Chuan (Perak Executive Councillor).

Hong Weng Kuen has demonstrated sheer persistence and dedication throughout his tenure as President, and in 2003 the rebuild started. A member for 70 years, he now looks forward to a strong membership success.

An entrepreneur with his own companies and also the manager of the Lido Theatre, Hong Weng Kuen has led a full and meaningfull life.
