Remark :

This opium lamp consists of a small metal oil reservoir which sits in a decorative brass base and is topped by a glass shade with a hole in the top. The bowl of the pipe is held over the top of the lamp and this heats the opium which bubbles and vapourises. These lamps were often the only light available in the opium den. It measures 11cm tall and 8cm in diameter.
