The Jungle Beat
This book, written by Roy Follows with Hugh Popham was first published in the year 1990.
It is about Roy Follows, the author himself, who in May 1952 and aged only 22 joined The Malay Police Force at the height of “Emergency”. It is a story of a small yet very tough band of Malay and Chinese led by a British officer, who would find their prey-and go in for the kill. Together with Hugh Popham, Roy Follows has written a humane, but honest and authentic account of jungle warfare during a murderous epoch.
