Kinta Rubber Works Advertisement From Penang
The advertisement (18.5cm x 26.5cm) was placed inside the front cover of the 1952 ‘The Lighthouse’, a Penang school magazine, and was probably inserted by their Penang agent K H Khaw. 211 Magazine Road, Penang. Telephone 864.
The product advertised was Kinta Compound, a tyre retreading material.
Kinta Rubber Works was established in May 1940 in Ipoh. It has always been a family business and has been passed down, father to son since that time. The company continues to operate in Ipoh at Kawasan Perindustrian Tasek, 31400 Ipoh,and has expanded into a wide range of rubber products.
L S Yeoh tells us:
"From a newspaper article, Kinta Rubber Works was assigned to Chew Choon Siew and Yeoh Ghim Cheow on 1st May 1940."
