Remark : These two photographs of Ong Wei Mei were taken in the vicinity of the family business in Tapah, with bicycles pictured as part of their stock. The year was 1954 and she was 5. Tin pedal cars were a popular toy at that time. These cars have a steering wheel and two foot pedals which are linked to the wheels. When the right pedal is kicked first and followed by the left pedal, the car moves forward. When the left pedal is kicked first and followed by the right pedal, the car moves in reverse.
