History records Lai Tek as being a master-spy because of his notoriety as a triple agent for the British, Japanese and the Communist Party.
A Vietnamese by origin, Hoang A Nhao aka Lai Tek, came to Malaya in 1939 to join the Communist Party and later rose in ranks to become its Secretary General.
When his cover was blown in 1947, Lai Tek fled to Bangkok where he was killed either by members of the Thai Communist Party or the MCP themselves.
