Remark :

More pictures of the lorry from Ipoh Aerated Water factory.

Ipoh Remembered shared the following with us, with regards to the words painted on the lorry:

"This "logo" was written in the "old" style and should be read from top to bottom and right to left. The two characters on the right are "怡保," which is, of course, "Ipoh" – and the two characters on the left are "充水," which is "aerated water." All the lorries belong to this one firm, which was owned by the family of Wong I Ek – whom you will recognise as perhaps the first Chinese doctor in Ipoh to practise Western medicine. If I recall correctly, I Ek had died before the firm was opened: I think the prime mover in this enterprise was his son – also a practitioner of Western medicine and a fascinating entrepreneur to boot".
