From left to right the images show:

A bag used by the flour supply company, Malayan Flour Mills Bhd (MFM), to supply superior grade milled flour from imported Australian wheat. The bag is trademarked "Bicycle Brand" and the details are written in Jawi, Chinese and English. Once it was empty the thrifty Malayan housewife may well have saved the strong white bag, washed and bleached it and it would be the perfect partner to hold the rice in the old fashioned wooden rice steamer.

MFM was the first company in the flour milling industry of Malaya. The plant at Lumut, Perak was opened by the first Prime Minister of Malaya, the late Tunku Abdul Rahman, on 15 October 1966.

In the centre, also from Malayan Flour Mills Berhad is a "Roses Brand" 50Lb bag milled from Australian wheat.

On the right, from Hong Kong Flour Mills is a 50Lb bag with the trade mark "Golden Statue" extra special wheat flour. The company was taken over in 1987 and we estimate this bag to date from 1970.
