The pictures show, from left to right:

  • Dara Singh and his wife Leong Chwee Yin (Cynthia) in 1946. They met in Burna in 1945 and married there on 1 January 1946.

  • Dara and Lord Louis Mountbatten discussing the old days in 1967. During earlier hard times in Burma they had shared a special incident when Dara came to the aid of the General who had crashed his jeep and was in severe pain, as he had been hit in the eye with a bamboo. After applying first aid Dara rushed him to the field hospital. That was the last time they met until Lord Louis paid an official visit to Malaysia in 1967 and Dara was in the official reception. At the reception Lord Louis announced that Dara had saved his eyesight by his swift reaction that day in Burma.

  • Dara and wife Cynthia in their Seremban home in 1999. The picture was taken by Leong Weng Ong.
