Remark :

Bridges are found in nearly continent, the picture below shows two different types of bridges in Malaya.

From left to right the photographs show:

  • A Pontoon Bridge across a river somewhere in Perak, this bridge is also known as a floating bridge since it floats on water; it is supported by barge-or-boat-like pontoons to support the bridge deck and the load it may carry. Although pontoon bridges are usually temporary structures, some are also used for long periods of time.

The bridge in the picture has the elements of a Bailey bridge due to the number of trusses used in its construction.

  • The Sultan Iskandar bridge in Kuala Kangsar, Perak, a steel bridge that was built in the late 1900’s
