Madam Wong Nyan Kim Poses Outside St Michael's Catholic Church
These two photographs show Wong Nyan Kim, daughter-in-law of Towkay Leong Tian and mother of our donor Richard Leong. They were taken at St Michael's Church, Ipoh. She was married to Leong Swee Seong, the second son of Leong Tian. Born in 1926, she was around 24 years old here. She passed away in 1997.
Nyan kim is featured several times in this archive as although her husband and her parted, she continued to live at the Tian mansion, "Rose Villa" in Gopeng Road, Ipoh for many years. She was well known as a kind hearted lady who cared not only for her children but also many others. She also had an almost sisterly relationship with Madame Poon Ah Thye and her family who are also featured in this archive. The families remain close friends to this day.
