Remark : The photographs show Margaret Vivian Leong Foong Leng, granddaughter of Towkay Leong Fee, and her husband Michael Wong Kok Sang. He is wearing the uniform of a Lieutenant of the Royal Corps of Transport, a British Army unit. It is believed that as the Japanese advanced on Singapore the uniform was changed for plain clothes and then destroyed as Chinese fighting for the British faced certain death when captured by the Japanese.

Margaret, born in 1924, was the fourth child of Leong Eng Khean and Chow Yoon Soo, his second wife. She came from Pontianak and they were married in 1916 when she was 14 years old. Margaret's father, Leong Eng Khean, was the eldest son of Leong Fee and his first wife Miss Cheah, (Cheah Choon Seng’s (Tjia Tjoen Sen) daughter).

Our donor Sybil de Roquigny, born Sybil Wong Sui Mei is the first daughter of Margaret and Michael. She has two sisters Benedicta Wong Sui Peng, Elaine Wong Sui Yin and one brother, Philip Wong Weng Khean.
