Star Hairdressing Salon - Part 5 - The Chairs
Right : This is one of the chairs at the salon, which are kept from quite long ago. They are cushioned and the wooden plank on the seat is for the children's support.
Left : This is the foot rest of the salon chair. The grey embossed worn out letters in the cast iron frame spell TOKYO - TAKEHANA CO - KURAMAE.
Kuramae means 'as strong as a sumo wrestler'. And the chairs were assembled by local workers lead by a Japanese engineer who came down with the crates of parts.
