The picture on the left shows J A S Jennings in a sarong, standing outside his house - which was No.50, Gopeng Road, Ipoh. The picture in the centre shows the Jennings residence (No.50, Gopeng Road), known as Midhurst. On the right is a coloured picture of Midhurst, which was built in the late 1920's. After Jennings’ death, the house was sold to the Perak State Government and it became the residence of the State Secretary. The land behind the house was part of the grounds of the Perak Sultan’s palace. Later, in 2003/2004, Midhurst was demolished and became the site for the extension of the new palace.
