Remark :
The photograph of a postcard shows the original pontoon bridge across the Perak River at Parit. Eventually replaced by a new permanent bridge, the pontoon was at the mercy of the serious flooding that could take place here and was severely damaged on more than one occasion.
We now have a similar postcard in our collection.
