Remark :

The photograph in this entry is that of a can of Pennzoil Motor Oil, the can is very unusual to find these days as it is made of cardboard, with tin ends, unlike the typical tin can we used to buy before plastics took over. Made in Pennsylvania the can contained 32 fluid ounces of oil. This particular can of Pennzoil is of new old stock where the product is considered obsolete but was never sold in retail. When it came to us it was full but leaking. We were therefore forced to empty it.

Known as composite  cans, these cardboard cans started to appear in the late 1940's, but they were adopted by most companies by the late 1950's and were used until the late 1980's. According to Pennzoil (Malaysia) this can datws from the late 1960's/early 1970's.
