The FMS reached its centenary on 19 June 2006 as the oldest pub in Malaysia. It is no exaggeration to say that old British and Australian customers (planters and miners) flew in from far and wide to join in the celebration. Who would have thought that just two years later the pub would be closed - possibly for ever!
