Purchasing A House In Taiping
The documents in this entry are documents issued by the Taiping Development Company located at 37, Market Road Taiping where the first image from the left is an official receipt / invoice issued to Madam Ong Yoke Sew (Ong Geok Sew) on the 3rd of June 1959 for the payment of $300 which was for the Booking Fee of a three bedroom type house on a piece of land located at Kamunting Road, Taiping. Other information on the invoice included the address of Madam Ong which was at 7A Cator Avenue, Taiping.
The second image from the left is a quotation of prices for a three bedroom type house which was selling at $9990 and a two bedroom type house which was sold at $7990 where both included amounts required for cash and instalment payments.
We believe that this was the first house Madam Ong purchased prior to booking for a house developed by the Canning Garden Estate.
