Housing Documents Of Mdm Ong Geok Sew Issued By Canning Garden Estate
The documents in this entry were those that belonged to Madam Ong Geok Sew (Ong Geok Seow), who was in the process of purchasing a house where these documents were issued to her by the Canning Garden Estate Ltd.
The first and second image from the left is a set of receipts issued for the deposit for house No. 20 located at Block 2L where a temporary receipt was issued on the 13th of December 1962 and an official receipt dated 15th December 1962 for the payment of $300.
The second set of images from the left (the third to the fifth) is another set of receipts which was also issued for the deposit of the same house where one temporary receipt was issued on the 2nd of Fanuary 1963 for the payment of $100, another for the payment of $700 on the same date and an official receipt was issued on the 4th of February for the payment of $700.
The final image is a letter issued to Madam Ong Geok Seow quoting the amount that was to be paid for the supply of labour and materials used which was mosaic tiling for the living room without skirting for the amount of $380 and mosaic tiling for the bathroom, $70.
We believe that this was the second house that Madam Ong purchase after purchasing one in Taiping.
