The Staff Of The Mines Office, Batu Gajah, 1949
This mounted photograph, dated 10 August 1949, was taken to record the departure of Mt & Mrs J C Torrington from the Mines Office in Batu Gajah to Canada. Mt Torrington was the local Inspector of Mines.
From left to right the photo includes:
Sitting Front Row - Pandak, OM, Mrs Torrington, Mr J C Torrington, Chin Kim Thoe, Clerk, Haji Md Ali, SGOM.
Standing - Bidin, Peon, Abbas, Mines Clerk, Low Lat, AUM, Taja Addruse, OM and Liew Siew Lam, OM.
As well as the names being typed and affixed to the cardboard mount, the details of the occasion and the participants are hand written on the back as can be seen in the above scans.
