Remark :

This is a plan of the new Station Road multi-storey car park showing the adjacent the J W W Birch Memorial Clock Tower on Post Office Road. It was the first multi-storey car park to be built in Malaya. The municipal government at that time was carrying out extensive improvements to the town including traffic, public parks and gardens, playgrounds and the like. In general they stated that they were continuing the make progressive attempts to give a "new look" to Ipoh. The car park was not far from another traffic 'first' for Malaya and the town-parking meters in Shaik Adam Road.
