Location : Perak, Malaya
Estimated Year : 1953
Media Type : Photograph
Source : Tom Turnbull, Australia
Remark :

The pictures show from left to right: An airforce aircraft dropping supplies by parachute close to Fort Legap.

Next, the men of the PFF in Fort Legap anxiously watch where the parachutes are dropping as these are the only supplies they are likely to get for some time. Air supply was a difficult and dangerous task for the air crews involved. Some lost their lives performing these essential duties, but there was a story of a crewman falling from an aircraft during a drop who lived to tell the tale.

Seen here are Police Lieutenants J S Drysdale, DSM (ex Royal Navy Special Boat Service) and Jock Wilson (Former Scots Guards Regiment) busy building one of the fort's barrackrooms. In front of them are Orang Asli busily making attap for the building.

Finally on the right is the clearing that was made in 1952 upon which the fort would be built.
