From left to right, the photographs show:

The funeral procession passing along Belfield Street, Ipoh. To the right but just out the picture would have been the marble fountain, donated by the Chinese businessman as a mark of respect for EW Birch, former resident of Perak. The sign shown in the picture reads "Notice. Drying of clothing in or around the fountain or on the bench or drying of other material such as chillies, flour, food, grains is strictly prohibited. Defaulters will be prosecuted. By order of the Town Council." Just to the left of centre and under the parking sign it states "For taxi only. Stand not to exceed four cars." On the far side of the street is a sign advertising the Modern Café.

In the centre can be seen local school girls from one of the convent taking part in the procession.

On the right the procession is passing a solitary policeman and behind him there are mourners walking under a canopy directly behind a decorated funeral car.
