Remark : The picture shows Peter Thong Jim Hin (right), the second son of Paul Thong and Monica Tsai. On the left is his wife, Mary Chong Pat Moi. The couple had four children: Bernard Thong Kwong Sin, Winnie Thong Wee Len, Juanita Thong Yuk Len and Bernice Thong Lee Len.
Born in 1903, Peter Thong is of the 21st generation Thong clansman and he was educated at St Xaviers Institution, Penang. Having completed his secondary education, he worked in the mines in Tanjong Rambutan. He was also a great social worker and in 1953 he was awarded the MBE by the Queen of England. Peter Thong passed away in 1971.
