John Addis - He Rests In Peace In God's Little Acre

These photographs taken by Ian show the last resting place of John Addis, Towkay Foo Choo Choon's famous mining manager of Tronoh Mines. Buried in God's Little Acre in 1908, the grave stands proud among its fellows. At the foot of the grave the following words are engraved in the marble :
"IN APPRECIATION OF HIS STERLING QUALITIES
BY A FEW OF HIS MINING FRIENDS."
While on the cross it simply says
"IN MEMORY
OF
JOHN ADDIS"
And below
"FIRST PRESIDENT OF PERAK CHAMBER OF MINES
DIED 4TH JULY 1908
AGED 74"
Interestingly enough, the grave of the late William Bryant, also a manager at Tronoh mines, some years later, is nearby.
