Remark : This row of elegant 1930’s townhouses in New Town was part of a distinctive neighbourhood that ran the length of Lau Ek Ching Street into Chapman Street and into the section adjoining Cowan Street. Mainly developed by Towkay Lau Ek Ching JP the street was named after him.
Just across Chapman Street and behind the houses there was once the garage for the cars of those who lived here. Chauffeurs could be summoned by telephone simply by dialing 200.
