Sybil Kathigasu from Ipoh was tortured by the Japanese and after the war sent to London by the British Government for hospital treatment. After a while she was moved to Scotland where she passed away due the terrible injuries the Japanese had inflicted on her.
The photographs show (from left to right) St Mary's Hospital Lanark where Sybil died, St Mary's Church, Lanark where she was first buried and the house of Mr and Mrs Moffat where Sybil stayed before being moved to the hospital for the last time. Mrs Moffat was the Chief mourner at Sybil's funeral.
