This Cheongsam, with matching handbag made for Mdm Ko by Shamghai Silk Co, Queens Road Hong Kong was for her wedding. At the time she lived in Ipoh and only moved to Kuala Lumput many years later.

The wedding dress is decorated with beads and sequins. on the upper part there are entwined roses that reach down to a beautiful peacock with long tail feathers almost to the bottom hem of the dress. The handbag matches with roses on one side and a peacock on the reverse. Although the beads and sequins remain intact the silk is showing its ge and is discoloured in places.

Mdm Ko was quite a petite young lady with a bust size around 30 inches, a waist of around 22 inches and hips around 30 inches. Dress length from Shoulder to hem is 38 inches.
