  • The photos shows a Vickers Valetta parked at a dispersal site waiting to be loaded with packs.

  • The Air Despatch crew have taken a break after loading the aircraft. The truck that they are perched on is a Bedford QLD. It was a GS (General Service) cargo truck version of the QL series of truck that was manufactured by Bedford Vehicles for use by the British Armed Forces in the 2nd World War.

  • The load has been strapped down to anchor points on the floor of the aircraft. The anchor point was a metal bracket where loads were strapped on using heavy nylon ropes. The loads in all the supply aircraft were sorted by weight in order to balance the aircraft.
