Remark : From left to right the photographs show:

  • The picture was taken from Dennis Marsden’s basha; the guardroom is on the right and armoury is on the left of the football pitch. The word Basha is a Malay word meaning Shelter or hut and was first introduced into the British Army vocabulary by Veterans of the Malayan Campaign (1950 - 1959) eg Malayan Scouts, who would eventually evolve into the 22nd Special Air Service Regiment (SAS).

  • In between the basha’s, some had zinc roofs and the others had atap (thatched roofs).

  • A view of the workshop, the Willy’s Jeep in the foreground carries the number 37-YH-34.
