Remark : Despite the dangers of deep mining pools, treachorous waterfalls and communist terrorists during the Malayan Emergency, young people were often out and about in the 1950s, enjoying their freedom with apparently few reports of accidents.
In this series of photographs a group from Batu Gajah are enjoying a visit to the Kampar waterfalls for relaxation, swimming and a picnic. The photographs show, from left to right:
Our donor Ho Hoo Wan is the grandson of Ho Yuk Phooi, a well known name in Batu Gajah.
